I prefer real people that are attainable that have the same struggles I do. I have been doing the same sort of soul searching myself looking for my place in the internet marketing world. I think I've settled on hosting myself amongst a few niche markets as well. I started my own blog in an attempt to get some webmaster / SEO friends but unfortunately, like you quite rightly said, most of them talk bullshit and so I stopped blogging. I probably make more money off one site than they do in total.

I do, however, know of a few truly awesome sites you should read, email me for some info if your interested.
