Variable domain name prices?
There is some speculation circulating around the Interweb that ICANN is considering implementing a system to price domains individually based upon their market value. This seems unfeasible. Could ICANN trust an automated system to accurately price domain names? Moreover, do they have the manpower to do this manually?
To me it seems completely pointless. Everyone will be creating 1000 sub domain names if this system is introduced. It’s bound to curb the expression of individuality on the WWW too, with domain names being such an integral part of a webmasters online identity.
I don’t honestly know what they are thinking about. Reintroduce free domains immediately! Actually don’t…….you’d have people running scripts for days on end registering every single combination available.
