I’ve signed up for another Commission Junction account……

by Matt on , under Affiliate Programs

This almost seems to be a yearly ritual for me! I’ll sign up for an account with good intentions and end up not establishing any links, forgetting all about it as the months roll by. Then when I try to login inevitably my account will have been deleted because of inactivity presumably.

Regardless of the past, I’ll need to start making inroads with CJ. If I’m to find success I’ll need to build sustainable income around a number of different programs. I’ve been reading far too many horror stories recently about Adsense accounts being banned for little or no reason, which leads me to believe that relying on it alone would be very foolish.

I’ll have to go back and find a few affiliate programs for each of my websites that are currently only serving Adsense ads. It’s always the more enjoyable part of the process, picking your ads and integrating them into the content.

Countless online entrepreneurs have been -victims- of the “Dormancy Policy”, at Commission Junction.

That policy states that when a publisher doesn’t generate revenue for more than six (6) months, CJ automatically deactivates them.

No mercy, no questions asked… just another “killed account”.

Unfortunately, CJ representatives openly admit they don’t have the functionality to reactivate accounts once they are removed. This is another way of saying they will permanently discrimate against these accounts, even if the account holder grows his web sites.

As such, it’s probably one of the “Top 10 Most Idiotic Policies” I’ve come across, online.

If a publisher would, nevertheless, like to continue working with CJ, he’s kindly invited to sign up for “another account” using an alternate e-mail address. Of course, you could just go on creating “aliases” forever but that would be playing CJ’s “game” and I, for one, won’t be one of those.

Whenever you communicate with CJ about this “dormancy” policy, they do apologize for the inconvenience but in my honest opinion, they simply don’t respect their publishers and that, perhaps, is what infuriates me the most.

Oh cool, thanks for clearing that up. It’s absolutely absurd!
