.info Domain TLD Namedrive Experiment

by Matt on Feb.02, 2007, under Domaining

I’ve just registered the following 4 .info domains at Dynadot with the intention of carrying out a little experiment over on Namedrive.

Funny Wedding Vows.info
Cats Funny Pictures.info
Funny Christian Skits.info
Funny Monkey Pictures.info

The plan is to park these domains and make back double my inital investment of $11.96 (hey big spender!) within 3 months. It’s been a while since I’ve experimented with monetizing domains on Namedrive so this should be something new at least.

If it’s successful it’ll contribute at least a little to hosting and to new domain registration costs. If it isn’t I might have to cease all of my operations and declare bankrupcy. $12 could buy me a bottle of low-grade vodka after all.

to be honest: I dont think you will get 11 dollar out of it in 3 months.

Or you have to post the names on many forums.

But it will get 0 type in traffic i guess

Nope, note with these domain name. .info don’t get much type-in traffic to start with, and 3 words is way too much. Plus you should try Domain Sponsor. Pays much better than namedrive.

    Hi Alan,

I wasn’t hoping to rely on type in traffic, rather I was targetting extremely rare niches with the prospect of having the parked page rank well for these search terms.

Turns out the Google clampdown on duplicate content is much greater than I had ever expected.
